What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site.
If you create an Eject account, you will be asked to enter certain information that can be used to identify you, such as your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information (“Personally Identifiable Information” or “PII”). If you create an Eject account using your login credentials from one of your social networking service accounts (“SNS Account”), we will be able to access and collect your name and other PII that the settings on your SNS Account allow us to access. If you create an Eject account through one of your SNS Accounts, we may also collect your gender, date of birth, zip code and other information that is not considered PII.
In addition to PII, if you enable your computer or mobile device to send us location information, we may collect and store information about your location by converting your IP address into a rough geo-location, or by accessing your mobile device’s GPS coordinates or coarse location. We may use and store information about your location, to provide Service features and to improve and customize the Service with content that has been tagged near your location. If you would prefer that we not collect location information, you may disable that feature on your mobile device.
We may also ask you for information at other times, including (but not limited to) when you make a purchase through our online store, when you enter promotions or contests and when you respond to a survey. For example, when you make a purchase through our online store, we collect several items of personal information, including your billing and shipping address, telephone number, credit card information, and any other information necessary to complete the transaction. For your security, we never store credit card information on our servers. We transmit credit card information directly to the third party credit card processor through secure connections.
We collect certain information sent by your mobile device when you use the Service, including a device identifier, user settings and operating system, as well as information about your use of the Service. We may keep track of how you interact with links across our Service, including our email notifications, third party services and apps, by redirecting clicks or otherwise. This is done to improve the Service and to facilitate the sharing of aggregate click statistics.
What are "Cookies", “Web Beacons” and “Log Data” and how do we use them?
Web Beacons – Web Beacons, also known as Web bugs, pixel tags or clear GIFs, are tiny graphics with unique identifiers. We may include them on the Service to: deliver or communicate with Cookies; track and measure the performance of the Service; monitor the number of visitors to the Service and monitor the effectiveness of our advertising. Unlike Cookies, which are stored on a user’s hard drive, Web Beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages or in email.
Log Data – Our servers will automatically record information (“Log Data”) that you create when using the Service. When you interact with our Service, we receive Log Data. For example, when you sign in or view video, Ejectco may use the Log Data to measure and customize the Service and provide you with recommendations.
How is this information used?
Eject is a content sharing platform. Therefore, please keep in mind that with the exception of your login credentials, such as your email address, phone number and password, which are not available to the public, the information you provide and Material you submit when using the Service is public. This includes the data provided with the Material, for example, when it was posted, as well as other information relating to your activity on the Service, such as the accounts you follow or follow you, the number of users who clicked on a particular link, or the Comment that you like or comment upon (“Activity Information”). Please note that any additional information you provide as part of your public profile, such as your name and links to your website and other social media profiles, will be published on your profile page. This information will be publicly accessible and may be viewed by anyone accessing the Services.
In addition, your email address may be used to send service updates and certain notifications, along with newsletters and marketing messages. To change your preferences, and to unsubscribe from newsletters, marketing messages and email notifications, please visit the settings page on your account.
If you subscribe to a premium account, information such as your name, address and payment verification will be used to process your account subscription and collect payment. All payment verification information is transmitted using industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption and is in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards.
Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
We may aggregate your personal data with similar data relating to other users in order to create statistical information, which we may then share with third parties or make publicly available. However, none of this information would include any email address or other contact information, or anything that could be used to identify you individually, either online or in real life.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your PII. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating the Service, conducting our business, or providing services to you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or third party rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
If you choose to connect your Eject account to other apps or social networks such as Facebook, Google+, Tumblr or Twitter, you will be sharing certain information with these apps or networks. In the case of connected apps, you will need to provide the app developer with full access to your Eject account in order to upload and download or other Material or comment on, favorite or repost Material from within the app. This will mean sharing your public information, plus access to private Material. Ejectco is not responsible for these other apps or networks, so please make sure you only connect your account with apps or services that you trust.
Third party links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our Service. These third parties have separate and independent privacy policies that we recommend you review. We are not responsible or subject to liability for the content, privacy or security practices of these linked sites.
Eject is not directed to persons under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any PII from any person who is under the age of 13 or allow them to register an account. If it comes to our attention that we have collected PII from a person under the age of 13, we will take steps to delete this information as quickly as possible and terminate the account. California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act and will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at anytime by logging into their control panel and going to the \'Edit Profile\' page.
